We are Padel West

Folks who love padel passionately!

On a trip to France to compete in tennis tournaments, Ashwin Sharma and Zach Itzstein found themselves on a padel court through a chance invitation. Having never played before, they quickly grew to love the sport and decided to try to bring it back to their hometown of Perth, where they were sure their fellow Aussies would find the game just as fun as they had.

After a long search for the right location, they settled on Melville Palmyra Tennis Club, a historic establishment south of the river. Combining the traditional feel of a respected tennis club and the modern zip of padel, it was just the right place to bring their vision of padel in Australia to life.

Now they hope that they have created a space where you can enjoy the social, exciting sport that is padel just as they did all that time ago in France.

Ashwin Sharma, Founder

Ashwin grew up playing tennis in Singapore and Perth. He went on to play for four years in the US college tennis system in New York and California where he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Zach Itzstein, Founder

Zach is a former professional tennis player, multiple WA Open Champion and has claimed numerous WA State League titles with the Hensman Park Tennis Club where he still competes. His goal now is to show the community that padel is a fun way to stay active, connected and healthy.
