Format

  • Six players will be chosen to represent each team in 3 pairs on match day.
  • This year, teams will have the freedom to pair up as they wish to ensure tactical flexibility.
  • All matches will be 3 full sets – if one pair is up 2-0 a 3rd set will still be played.
  • All sets won will count towards the teams total. With 9 sets played in each fixture.
  • Winning 2 out of 3 matches wins the team the fixture, which is worth 5 ladder points.
  • Each set won is worth 1 ladder point for that team.
  • Match #3 is worth 2 additional ladder points to the winner.

For example a team:

Wins Match #1 (2-1)

Wins Match #2 (2-1)

Loses Match #3 (0-3)

That team receives:•5 points for winning the round

•4 points for winning 4 sets

Total – 9 points

Other team gets:

•5 points for winning 5 sets

•2 points for winning Match #3

Total – 7 points

Final result 9-7

Rules

Rules of Play

Star Point Deuce (Two advantage points, 3rd Deuce – Golden Point)

7 point tiebreak at 6 games all.

Outside play allowed both courts.

Pairs can swap sides (left and right) after each set.

Players must play a match in 2 separate fixtures to be eligible for the final.

Team Playing Order (TPO)

TPO’s will be decided before Round 1, through general consensus of all teams.

Team’s can adjust their TPO before rounds 2 and 3. Adjustments must be made before

Friday 5pm of those rounds and at least 2 of the other 3 teams must agree.

If at least two of the other teams disagree with a team’s TPO adjustment, the adjustment will

be rejected and the TPO will remain as it was.

This year, the TPO is not as important on match days, as lineup rotations will be allowed,

however, they will still be important for the potential addition of new players during the

season and if an injury or extenuating circumstance occurs and a player needs to be

replaced after pairs are announced.Team Lineups

Captains must submit their team lineups before Saturday 12pm the week of that round.

Captains need to submit the 6 players that will play on the day.

If something happens to any of the 6 players between Saturday 12pm and the start of that

fixture that player/s can be replaced by anyone number 6 or lower on the TPO.

A player from each team must write down the pairings for Match # 1, 2 & 3 and swap with

each other 10 mins before the commencement of that fixture.

Once the pairings have been submitted no changes can be made to players otherwise it will

count as a forfeit and the result will be 6-0, 6-0, 6-0 to the opposition.

Injuries

If a player is injured, sick or can’t continue during a match all remaining games and sets will

go to the opposing team.

Player Late/ No Show

Anyone more than 15 mins late for the commencement of a match will forfeit the first set of

that match (counted as 6-0 for the opposition). If a player is more than 30 mins late or does

not show up, the match will be forfeited (with all sets counted as 6-0 for the opposition).

Inclement Weather/Fixture Cancellation

If inclement weather (rain, extreme wind or temperature 37 degrees or over) delays play or

the court is slippery, the hosting club will decide whether the court is playable or not.

If the courts are deemed to not be playable, a wait of no more than 60 minutes will

commence for the courts to be playable.

If courts aren’t playable after this time the fixture will be cancelled.

If play commences after a delay and weather delays play again for more than 30 mins the

fixture will be cancelled.

Sets played will be counted and the remaining sets to be played will be split between the

teams.

If one team hasn’t won two matches, the 5 bonus points for a win will be split between the

teams.

New Players

New players outside of those on the current team lists can be recruited onto a team but must

be placed at number 6 or lower on the TPO and that must be agreed by at least two other

team’s captains.

New players must be added to the team’s TPO by Friday 5pm the week of the fixture. If not,

the team will lose all the sets the new player plays.

When a new player is recruited to a team they must play the same week they were recruited

otherwise that player can no longer play for that team and can be recruited by other teams in

the following weeks. Unless they have proof of injury or an extenuating circumstance.

Ladder Tiebreak

If we have two, three or four teams on equal ladder points, the team that goes above will be

decided in the following order:

1. Total fixtures won

2. Total matches won

3. Total sets won

4. Head to head – Most fixtures won between the teams

5. Head to head – Most matches won between the teams

6. Head to head – Most sets won between the teams

7. Total games won/ total games percentage

8. Team that won the most recent fixture between those two teams.

Balls

The host club must provide 6 cans of new balls per round. They can decide which balls they

will use but this must be told to us by March 8th.

Court Utilisation

Clubs can utilise their courts however they would like but this must be told to us by Sunday

March 8th.

Matches will be played at Padel West from 1pm-5:30pm on two courts in the following

format:

1pm

Court 1: Match 1 (Fixture 1)

Court 2: Match 2 (Fixture 1)

2:30pm

Court 1: Match 3 (Fixture 1)Court 2: Match 1 (Fixture 2)

4pm

Court 1: Match 3 (Fixture 2)

Court 2: Match 2 (Fixture 2)

The hosting club would need to book off 9.5 court hire hours. (4.5 hours for each court + 30

mins extra on one court in case matches go overtime).

The host of the grand final will need to book off two courts for a 30 min warmup and then 1

court for 5 hours (total 6 court hire hours) with one match following the other in this format:
